Following the retirement of our successful Co-Headteachers we are seeking to appoint a new leader to further develop and enhance the ethos of the school.
Seely School was built in 1924. We have spent almost 100 years including, valuing and trusting each other to nurture and educate our pupils. We are capable alone but together we are thriving. This means being inclusive and being responsible for each other. Because, for our school to flourish for the next 100+ years, capable isn’t enough.
We are proud to be a multicultural school and value diversity. As an Equal Opportunity Employer we welcome applications from across the community we represent.
Based in the community of Sherwood in Nottingham, Seely Primary and Nursery school are recruiting a head teacher to start at the beginning of the autumn 2022 term for the next chapter of our story. You will be supported by two highly experienced Deputy Headteachers, specialising in assessment, safeguarding and end of key stage standards, as well as phase leaders, SENDCO’s and attendance officers. Furthermore, we have a Parent Liaison Worker who ensures we are at the very heart of the school community.
Our values are dream, believe and succeed.
We amalgamated our infants and juniors in 2013 with the vision to create a stable and thriving school at the heart of the community. This dream has helped us build Seely into a happy, stimulating, and caring place to work and learn. Our learners are safe, they develop strong skills for learning, and are well prepared for life in modern Britain. We were rated “good” by Ofsted in May 2019 in recognition of our attainment, culture, thorough clear leadership and shared vision, and good governance. School behaviour is good and is driven by our Restorative Justice principles, ensuring pupils feel valued and listened to and that pupils develop the skills required to become successful citizens of the future.
We are proud to provide a nurturing, enriching and safe environment for all pupils where safeguarding and wellbeing is at the heart of the school ethos. We believe in achieving the best outcomes for each child regardless of their starting points and ensure they feel a sense of achievement in all they do. We offer a rich and varied curriculum, including high quality arts and music provision, partner school links with other countries, a successful football team and a wide range of after school and community events and activities. We believe in the strength of collaboration and are founding members of Nottingham Schools Trust. Our stable school team contribute to the development and delivery of many city-wide and national networks and improvement initiatives.
The academic success of our school has been realised by a whole school approach. Our distributed leadership throughout the school ensures that staff have the skills, energy and commitment and are highly visible as they take responsibility and work together to design and deliver curriculum and tackle areas for improvement identified through our data. The high standard of our provision has been recognised through a range of external awards. Our school is also recognised for its work in the arts in school and in the community, taking a lead role in “Sherwood Art Week” and the wider Nottingham community for many years.
We are looking for a head teacher who can understand the strengths of the school and lead our 100 staff in guiding 540 pupils into becoming brilliant citizens.
