We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead St Mark’s Church of England Academy following the promotion of the previous Principal to an executive leadership role within another Multi-Academy Trust.
Over the past decade, St Mark’s has been transformed from a failing school in Special Measures to a highly successful and continually improving school, which has been graded as good in two successive Ofsted inspections (2012 and 2017) and has many outstanding features. Behaviour and attitudes, the achievement of disadvantaged groups of students, the focus on quality first teaching and the professional development opportunities provided for staff are exemplary and the values of love, hope and trust permeate every aspect of school life.
Whilst the school has had several years of positive progress measures at Key Stages 4 and 5 and a significantly improved reputation from its predecessor school, it is located in an extremely high-performing and competitive area with ample opportunities for young people. The successful candidate will require charisma, entrepreneurial skills and tenacity in order for the school to continue to grow in this challenging context.
St Mark’s Church of England Academy is part of Anthem Schools Trust, a multi-academy trust serving over 8,000 children and young people in 16 schools across the East Midlands, London and the Thames Valley.
We are looking to appoint a Principal with a proven track record at either Principal or Deputy Principal level. As a senior leader in our multi-academy trust, the post-holder would be expected to embrace Anthem’s collaborative ethos and work closely with other schools across the Trust.
In addition to a competitive salary, we provide high-quality leadership coaching and professional development and the opportunity to play a key role in a dynamic and aspirational multi-academy trust. We would also consider a relocation package for the right candidate.
