The London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Adult Learning & Skills Service (ALSS) provides over 400 courses to more than 6,000 students locally and London wide.
The courses offered are both nationally accredited qualifications and non-accredited courses at various locations throughout the borough.
ALSS is seeking to recruit a Full time Programme Manager for Skills for Life (SfL) and Family Learning, reporting to the Senior Manager for Engagement, Partnerships and Development. This is a key role to manage and co-ordinate all Skills for Life and Family Learning provision, which makes up a large number of courses across the borough. Our Skills for Life and Family learning team has an excellent track record in delivering highly successful SfL programmes in the community.
The full time SfL Programme Manager post is a key appointment to ensure that we maintain our excellent standards in teaching and learning for ESOL, Functional Skills English and Maths, as well as Family Learning. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced person to take on this exciting role and support our borough residents achieve nationally recognized certificates and progress in their lives.
The post holder must: have a Degree or equivalent Level 4 Adult teaching qualification and subject specific qualification at Level 4 and successful adult teaching experience. Experience of contributing towards curriculum planning and development. Knowledge and understanding of Ofsted, (the Education Inspection Framework EIF) and the ability to contribute to quality improvement strategies. Range of recent successful teaching experience in programme area. Evidence of ability to develop and manage a curriculum programme that is responsive to and meets the needs of the Services objectives and priorities. Evidence of ability to recruit, support and manage staff to perform to a high standard. Evidence of understanding and knowledge of developments and policies pertinent to the service.

To manage a team of Programme Leaders, established staff and sessional tutors.
• Plan, lead and develop on the curriculum development and implementation for English, Maths, ESOL and Family Learning.
• Manage these areas in line with Ofsted and the Education Inspection Framework.
• Recruit a range of tutors, to support delivery of one of the largest areas across Adult Learning and Skills.
• Oversee the Budget for the areas.
• Teach an annually agreed number of hours in line with the needs of the service
