Engineering at Weston College are looking to appoint suitably qualified Trainers/Assessors to deliver and assess on a range of apprenticeship qualifications at levels 2, 3 and 4. Delivery and assessment will take place primarily in the workplace although some elements may be delivered in the Faculty.
Successful candidates will have direct industry experience in the relevant field and hold a relevant qualification at a minimum of Level 3 and/or 4. It is essential that you hold or are willing to work towards the Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement and desirable for you to also hold a Certificate/Award in Internal Quality Assurance (if old qualifications are held (e.g. A1 or V1) it is essential that you are willing to update to the new standards).
You will be responsible for a case load of learners guiding them through the apprenticeship standard. Duties will include assessment and training activities, quality/audit compliance, learner guidance and support. You will ensure that appropriate developments are undertaken to support delivery against quality assurance, self-assessment processes, case load targets and objectives. You will also support them to learn the skills, knowledge and behaviours which are essential during the learner's journey to End Point Assessment. You will also assess their readiness for both the Gateway and End Point Assessments to ensure timely completions.
You should have good communication skills, be able to work both independently and as part of a team and be fully committed to working with young people and adults. You will also have a passion for high standards, good time management and proven experience of providing outstanding support for learners. You should also have a good standard of IT literacy and it will be desirable to have a good working knowledge of smart assessor and/or similar tracking tools.
This role will involve travelling to employers therefore it is essential that you have a full UK driving license and are willing to use your own vehicle for work purposes.
