A role that combines coaching on the women’s and men’s rugby programme at the college.
The successful candidate will take a lead on the planning and delivery of all rugby sessions for the women’s programme at the college. The women’s rugby programme is in its infancy, so the successful candidate will initially be working with a small group of girls with a strong focus on driving individual skill development. The role will also involve close collaboration with the Saracens CoE and CB groups to support the recruitment of girls to the college post-16, with the target of growing a squad of players capable of competing in schools and college competitions on a consistent basis.
The role will also involve coaching across the men’s programme at the college, specifically taking a lead on planning and delivery of sessions for the development squad, with some attendance at fixtures required as advised.
There is potential for the role to evolve to suit the requirements of the women’s and men’s rugby programmes at the college, with the opportunity for the right candidate to assume greater responsibility for the women’s programme as it becomes more established.
The ideal candidate will have a background in rugby coaching, ideally within a performance pathway setting, and experience working within player pathways. Experience of working within an education setting is also desirable.
To be considered for this role applicants need to demonstrate they hold the following;
• Educated to a relevant professional qualification (Degree, foundation degree or Level 3 course)
• Experience of coaching within a comparable organisation
• Qualifications at level appropriate to the specialism area (e.g. RFU Level 2)
