Caretaker – Part time 10 hours per week.
Bristol Grade 5 £18,426 - £18,795 pro rata (actual £4,980 - £5,080)
Start Date: Tuesday 1st September 2020
St John’s is a very happy, successful and popular school, near the top of Whiteladies Road and close to the Downs. We have expanded over recent years and now operate over two sites but remain very much one school. We are looking for a committed, positive, self-responsible and enthusiastic person to be based at our Lower Redland Road site. We are really looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to make the building as welcoming as possible for our children and their families.
The role is 10 hours a week, daily from 7.30am to 9.30am, but there is some limited flexibility with timings.
Holidays are generally taken during school holiday time, however up to 2 non-consecutive weeks may be taken during term time by negotiation.
The job involves opening up the school, performing daily playground and building checks, undertaking minor repairs where possible, sweeping the playground in preparation for the school day, delivering fruit to classrooms, ensuring bins are out on collection day and some porterage. There may be times where the successful applicant is asked to help our site supervisor with larger projects or maintenance work over both of our sites so some availability for overtime or flexibility with hours would be beneficial, particularly during school holidays.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is hard-working, enthusiastic and keen to join our excellent team; a sense of humour and adaptability essential!
Unfortunately, we cannot allow visits to the school at the current time but please see our website for more information about the school. Any queries please contact the school office on 0117-9030251 or email the school (details on our website).
Please read the job description and person specification carefully. CVs will not be accepted and all application forms must be completed in full. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical checks and references.
Closing date for applications: 12:00 noon Friday 7th August.
Interviews will be held on during the week commencing 24th August.
