We currently have a vacancy for a new member of staff to join our team of School Meals Supervisory Assistants (SMSAs) to look after the children during the lunch period ensuring that the children enjoy safe and happy lunchtimes.
POST: School Meals Supervisory Assistant
LOCATION: St Ursula's E-ACT Academy
HOURS: 12.5 per week (Monday to Friday 11:15 - 13:45)
CONTRACT: Term Time Only
SALARY: SP 1, Full Time Equivalent £17,364 (Actual Salary £4,995.11)
Our dining hall team, under the direction of the school Lead SMSA, work in our dining halls supervising the children with their hot dinners or assisting the children with packed lunches.
Duties include setting out tables and benches, laying out cutlery, mugs and drinking water and ensuring that the dining environments remain clean and safe making sure that any spills are cleaned up promptly.
Our playmakers, working under the direction of the school Learning Mentor, supervise the children in our play areas which include, a vast field, football pitches, a climbing area and an active trail as well as provision for traditional games.
Playmakers are expected to interact with the children while continuing to be vigilant, ensuring safe play, and often work with an individual class or year group building a rapport with the children and their class teacher.
The ability to work as part of a team is essential to the role and we are looking for an individual who is prepared to support our kind and caring ethos towards both the children and other members of staff.
