Salary: £23,487 to £39,406 per annum, depending on experience
King’s Oak Academy is a rapidly expanding all-through 4 to 16 academy based in Kingswood, Bristol. There are currently 3 year groups in our primary phase – Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 – with Year 7 through to Year 11 in our secondary phase. The children are excited to learn and are real ambassadors for our diverse community. They benefit from a hugely positive and supporting learning environment.
King’s Oak Academy is part of the Cabot Learning Federation (CLF). The CLF is the largest non-diocesan academy group in the South West and currently sponsors thirteen academies, seven of which are secondary, five are primary and one is a studio school catering for students aged 14 to 19 years.
We are looking to appoint a full time and permanent Teacher of Science. In this role, you will be required to teach science as part of the STEM team.
Your key duties will include:
• Teaching science across the Academy which will include KS3 and KS4
• Being accountable for the progress of students within classes taught against agreed targets
• Managing learners’ behaviour by establishing and maintaining a clear framework for discipline in line with the Academy’s TRI System Behaviour Policy
• Undertaking pastoral responsibilities and duties as required
You will have qualified teacher status and a degree, preferably in a science subject. A physics specialism would be most desirable, but we also welcome applications from chemistry and biology specialists. You will be a highly committed professional with a high level of emotional intelligence, and keen to create something unique and move beyond expectations in learning for life. You will be innovative, creative and flexible in your approach to achieve the best results.
