A career defining opportunity for an inspirational leader with a passion for creating engaging learning environments, to develop and shape the current and future quality of the teaching profession across our region, and beyond.
To accelerate and broaden our impact, The Mead Educational Trust (TMET) recently launched an exciting and sector-leading new venture, The Mead Institute of Professional Learning. Drawing together the capacity and expertise from across our family of 13 primary and secondary schools based in and around Leicester, SCITT and Teaching School Hub, we are shaping and empowering the next generation of leaders, teachers, managers, and professionals for our own trust and beyond. As a family of schools, we leverage our collective strengths in order to make a positive difference to the life chances of children and young people, and our wider community.
At The Mead Institute of Professional Learning our pupils have access to an extraordinary education which is at the heart of everything we do and every decision we make. This is an exciting time to be joining and leading our team of incredible people who make this possible; which is why we invest heavily in talent, provide rewarding pathways, and offer unparalleled professional development.
The Leicestershire Secondary SCITT opened in 2013 and was founded with the specific goal of improving the quality of education for children and young people across Leicester and Leicestershire. Working in partnership with the University of Leicester, the SCITT has an excellent reputation for producing high quality, committed graduates ready to start their journey as educators.
Leading with moral purpose and sharing our unwavering commitment to making a positive difference, you will ensure that SCITT trainees are expertly and consistently supported in their learning, securing deeply developmental experiences and successful outcomes on their journey with us. To drive this, you will be able to clearly articulate the power of high-quality ITT and teacher development to transform outcomes for children and young people, alongside a demonstrable knowledge of current ITT policy and provision.
We are delighted that The Mead Educational Trust has been successful in its reaccreditation bid for the SCITT, in partnership with the Leicester and Leicestershire Primary SCITT based at Dovelands Primary School. This creates exciting opportunities, and the Director will be instrumental in bringing these to fruition in time for the implementation of the new ITT requirements in 2024.
