SEMH Learning Support Assistant
Grade 5 , Pay Points 7 to 8 (Full-time Equivalent £18,426 -£18,795)
32.5 hours per week - 39 weeks per year
We are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Learning Support Assistant who will be committed to improving outcomes for all of our children, along with a passion for providing inspirational learning experiences.
Due to exciting expansion opportunities Discovery Schools Academy Trust have an opening for a LSA to work with a small group of children with a range of SEMH specific needs predominantly under the guidance of a specialist SEMH unit within a mainstream setting. There will be up to 10 pupils aged between 5 and 11 years old and the successful candidate will require experience of supporting children throughout these ages ranges. The SEMH LSA role, will take responsibility for the day to day delivery of learning including resourcing, assessing and general operations under the supervision of a lead teacher, SENCO and school SLT
We are looking for someone who has:
• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent
• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting
• Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures
• Good interpersonal skills
• Empathy with children and young people
