SEN Learning Support Assistant
Fixed term - Commencing as soon as possible
This is a temporary position but may be extended as it is linked to pupil funding.
Blackfordby St Margaret's C of E Primary School is a small school in a beautiful village in North West Leicestershire. We are looking for a caring, experienced and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with young children to join our small school team.
You will work one to one with specific children to help support them to fully access all aspects of the curriculum. As part of your role you will, under the direction of a teacher and SENCo, support in the learning process and utilise your skills to assist the teacher to create an educational environment in which the pupil's all round development is achieved.
You will promote development and learning, and will help to ensure full participation.
This role will include attending to the pupils’ personal needs including toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating, as well as help with social, emotional, welfare and health matters reporting problems to teacher as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will be:
- Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting.
- Able to smile when things dont go to plan.
- Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team, including working closely with outside agencies.
- Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve.
