BG6 £19,171 - £19,554 pro rata

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT with experience of working with children with Autism and/ or Social Emotional Mental Health/ Attachment needs.
The role requires the candidate to have the following;
• Experience of working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs, ideally with Autism and/ or Social Emotional Mental Health needs
• Care, adaptability, foresight and initiative.
• Have humour and resilience when working with 1:1 or in class with a children
• Good inter-personal skills to communicate with Class Teacher, LSAs, SENCo and Parents
• To be familiar with strategies to support Autism and/ or Social Emotional and Mental Health needs.
• To provide a positive and encouraging learning environment
• To be able to confidently de-escalate situations and refocus children back toward learning through positive behaviour strategies.
• Leading interventions to support needs

We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated LSA/ LSAs to work in EYFS to support a pupil with SEND. Whilst your deployment will be on a needs basis across the school, this post is primarily to support two pupils with Autism and SEMH/ Attachment needs. The person appointed must be able to develop good relationships with pupils and parents, have high expectations, be assertive and have a sense of humour. Previous experience working in a school environment is essential and any experience of children with Autism and/or SEMH would be preferable. Also experience in encouraging integration and inclusion, while developing social skills would be helpful.
We need a person who is adaptable, who can work on their own initiative and who is caring, patient and able to work collaboratively with a very supportive team. Some of the work will be on a one to one basis as well as supporting the pupil in class.
