SEN Teaching Assistant
Start date: ASAP
Hours: 23 hours and 20 minutes per week, term time only (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 8.45am – 3.05pm & Tuesday & Friday 8.45am – 12.10pm). With an opportunity to job share.
Salary: Hay 10 (£11,065 - £11,742 per annum)
This is a temporary post linked to funding that will end when the funding ceases or the child leaves the school.
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, caring and enthusiastic person to support a Reception child with a ‘sweet and sensitive’ temperament. We are looking for an individual who has experience or a readiness to learn about children with ASD and other areas of need including cognition and learning, social communication, concentration and attention, emotional and behaviour regulation, heighted sensory responses, social skills, personal safety and communication and interaction needs. The successful candidate would also need to support the child’s self-care and independence skills (including intimate care and toileting needs).
It would be highly beneficial if the candidate has experience with using communication systems such as PECS and/or Makaton, supporting individual speech and language needs and working in an early years setting.
