The Pivot Academy is a growing group of schools with a very big difference – we offer a unique style of alternative provision tailored around the needs of children, ages 7 to 16, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or for those who have been permanently excluded. Our purpose is to give all children access to equal opportunities and chances for life and we do it for the simple reason that we believe children deserve better.
We are currently looking for a dedicated, resilient and experienced SENCo to join the senior leadership team at our Leeds site, supporting primary and secondary age students. You will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the SEN provision at the school and exercise a key role in assisting with the SEND policy. You will possess the knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of additional needs to narrow the gaps and ensure they achieve their best during their time at the Academy.
To support this post, the candidate will have access to a team of experienced colleagues, including our SEN Lead across Pivot and our social care team. This is a pivotal role within the school and an opportunity to make a positive difference to our student’s futures.
What we can offer you:
- The chance to be part of a small and dedicated team at each site.
- Small class sizes with high staff ratios.
- A free counselling and supervision service for all staff.
- A flexible approach to family appointments.
- A commitment to staff development, including supporting staff to undertake new opportunities, CPD and middle leadership programmes.
- Competitive salaries with room for growth.
- An early finish every Friday.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working at Pivot a rewarding experience.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check and appropriate referencing.
