Pivot Academy is expanding, come and join us!
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our Academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds. We are doing great things – but we have so much more to do.
Even before the pandemic the demand for good quality provision far exceeded supply. The past year has widened the gap even more – and we are stepping up to the challenge.
Our Day 6 provision at Bradley is a centre specifically for KS4 children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. Our curriculum is based on core academics, creativity and personal development but also has a clear focus on developing children's softer skills. Our aim in Day 6 is to support students academically and socially and to prepare them for transition back into mainstream school and we are expanding this provision to be able to offer additional capacity for these students.
As the SENCo, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and development of the SEN provision at Day 6 and exercise a key role in assisting with the SEND policy. You will possess the knowledge and experience of working with students with a range of additional needs to narrow the gaps and ensure they achieve their best during their time at the academy.
To support this post, the candidate will have access to a team of experienced colleagues, including our SEN Lead across Pivot, Educational Psychologist and our social care team. This is a pivotal role within our expanding provision and an opportunity to take a positive difference to our student’s futures.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives and we truly believe you will find working here a rewarding experience.
