In December 2022, Ofsted graded our school as ‘’good’ in all categories and identified the strategic SEND strategy as good. “Leaders ensure that effective support is in place for pupils with SEND. Teachers receive appropriate training, so that they can meet pupils’ individual needs”.
As we will embark on our next strategic journey of SEND, we are seeking to appoint an additional SENCO to join our team to further develop and lead on inclusion across the school. The successful applicant’s line manager will be the Senior Assistant Headteacher, SENCO and SLE for SEND so will be well supported.
We are looking for an experienced professional who can lead the strategic direction and development of SEND policy and provision, ensuring that Foxford School continues to be an inclusive environment where students with SEND can thrive and achieve expected outcomes.
You will lead the provision which supports students with their academic, personal and social development. The role is demanding but very rewarding. The post will lead a wider team with enthusiasm and commitment and will support staff to deliver high quality first teaching in line with the SEND Code of Practice in our fantastic school. The successful applicant will:
- Ideally hold the National SENCO award; although we are prepared to offer training to the right candidate
- Have a detailed understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and experience of delivery within this framework;
- Have experience of working with young people who hold EHCPs;
- Be able to lead a team of pastoral and classroom support staff;
- Be able to work as part of the extended leadership team to ensure the achievement of students across the school;
- Be a committed, highly competent, energised, reflective and resilient individual;
- Possess the skills and determination to make a profound difference to the lives of our students by sharing our belief in the highest standards of academic achievement in an inclusive setting
