MPS/UPS + TLR2
Required for September 2021
Full Time or Part Time
Sycamore Academy is a culturally diverse and vibrant inner city school, graded ‘Good’ in its last Ofsted inspection, with a dedicated team of staff who take pride in improving outcomes for children.
We currently require a talented and enthusiastic teacher who can lead and support SEND provision across our school; our SEND provision is a strength, supporting children from our 2 year old nursery provision right through to Year 6. This post is suitable for a teacher with at least 2 years’ experience who can demonstrate their impact. You are not required to hold an existing SENDCo qualification, although this is something we would be willing to support you to work towards.
Regardless of experience the successful candidate will lead and develop SEND, building on our current good practice but also be able to bring innovation to strengthen our provision. The post is a middle leader position that will also contribute and play a vital role in the Senior Leadership Team.
In addition to leading and developing SEND, the post will also involve some class teaching (up to 50% for full time applicants). We would like applications from excellent practitioners who feel they could help the school build upon its strengths and continue to maintain good standards of achievement. The appointed candidate will receive a structured programme of CPD and generous non-contact time.
We benefit immensely from being a member of a very forward looking and inclusive Trust where children can take part in STEM days, Bushcraft experiences and performing arts days which brings schools across the Trust together. Teachers throughout the Trust work together in partnership and Sycamore Academy works particularly closely with other L.E.A.D. academies in Nottingham to share good practice and provide the highest quality education, enabling every pupil to realise their full potential.
This is a superb opportunity to develop and progress professionally and to impact upon children’s learning.
School visits are highly recommended and welcomed. Please contact Mike Sherwin (contact details can be found in the 'Apply Now' section) to arrange a visit and to receive a full application pack:
Closing Date for application is 12 noon on Wednesday 19th May 2021.
Interviews will take place in the week commencing 24th May 2021
