Senior Finance Assistant
College location: East Surrey College (Redhill)
Salary: Circa £25,000 - £26,000 (Subject to qualifications, skills and experience)
Hours: Full time (37 hours/week)
We are currently seeking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic Senior Finance Assistant to join our Finance department.
In this vital role you will be responsible for the timely and effective operation of the general ledger, the preparation and input of general ledger journals, the monthly review of control accounts and completion of the reconciliation of College bank accounts.
You will support the Finance & Payroll Operations Manager in the production of key schedules including weekly cash flow, balance sheet reconciliations, Learner Support Funds, debtor analysis, high needs monitoring and bank reconciliations within agreed timescales.
In addition to this you will also produce reports, analysis and interpretation of data for Directorate and Budget Holders and complete monthly/yearly returns to the Office of National Statistics and annual Learner Support Fund return to the funding body.
The successful candidate must have:
•A full Accounting Qualification (AAT) or Part Qualified with higher accounting qualification (CIMA / ACCA)
•Good knowledge of accounting procedures and double entry book keeping
•Experience of producing regular reports, as well as the production of high level spreadsheets and pivot tables used by managers as an information tool
•A good understanding of Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and General Ledger systems and processes
•Knowledge of month end procedures and basic understanding of purpose of monthly management accounts
