If you are an experienced IT Technician looking for a fresh challenge then we have just the opportunity for you. We are looking for a senior technician with proven experience to join our team and support our users in the role of a Senior IT Support Technician working at the 5 schools on the Wellsway campus in Keynsham (Wellsway School, IKB Academy, Chandag Infants, Chandag Juniors and the newly opened Two Rivers School).
The ideal candidate will be:
- An excellent communicator
- Customer focused
- A team player
- Flexible and adaptable in your approach to work
With strong customer service skills you will have a demonstrable track record in IT support. An understanding of supporting IT in primary or secondary education would be a considerable advantage however it’s not essential so long as you have the ability and desire to learn new systems quickly. You will need to support a variety of devices such as Windows computers, iPads, Chromebooks, MFDs, Promethean touchscreens and Apple TVs, plus systems such as Microsoft 365, the Meraki MDM and the G-Suite admin console for Chromebook management.
The IT Services team is committed to professional development and sees it as a key priority to help each other to gain skills and so improve our service but also to prepare you for future career progression either within the Trust or elsewhere. Indeed, the structure of the IT Services team is intentionally designed to allow colleagues to progress their career as their skills develop. A senior IT Technician could potentially progress to be an Area Team Leader (who co-ordinates the other user support technicians in their area) or a Systems Administrator for example.
In return we offer:
- A competitive salary
- An energised, supportive and professional working environment
- The opportunity to work with a wide range of modern technologies and to develop the skills to use them
- Benefits including pension scheme, discounted sports centre/gym membership, free wellbeing support & medical cover, free on-site parking, cycle to work scheme and Tax-Free Childcare

The Trust has invested heavily in updating its IT infrastructure over the past few years including virtual server infrastructure at most sites, core switches and wireless networks, backup systems, managed printing system and a VOIP telephone system which covers most of the Trust. We also have an established refresh cycle of upgrading client devices. Most of the primary schools have brand new touchscreens in their classrooms. Two Rivers Primary School will open in a purpose-built accommodation in Easter 2022, fully equipped with brand new IT solutions.
