Cambridge Regional College have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our Access, Science & HE team in Cambridge. The role is being offered on either a full time, full year basis or alternatively, term time only plus 4 weeks.

This role will be based mainly in the Biology department, which includes the provision for BTEC Applied Science / Forensic Investigation, L4 HNC in Biology as well as our popular Access to Science course for adults. Facilities include 5 specialist laboratories with separate technician space in Chemistry and Biology. You will be responsible for overseeing the organisation of all practicals across the biology programmes as well as the monitoring and purchase of new stock / equipment across the three sciences. You will work closely with the Head of Department to manage science budgets. You will also be responsible for the line management of two other members of staff.
You will have several years experience leading and working with a busy science team, preparing and advising on practicals mainly relating to biology but also with chemistry and physics experience. You are an enthusiastic self motivated applicant. Good organisational and problem solving skills with a positive ‘can do’ approach are also essential requirements. We are a small but experienced team who are passionate about developing our courses and encouraging our students to enter employment or higher education within science.
