Richmond and Hillcroft Adult and Community College provide an impressive environment to support learning. We design and deliver courses to meet the needs, interests and abilities of both adults and young people who wish to learn in an adult environment.
We are seeking variable hours tutors to teach on our courses for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities. We expect applicants to hold a minimum teaching qualification such as the PTLLS, the 7407 Stage 1 or the equivalent but a full teaching qualification such as the Cert Ed or the equivalent along with QTLS would be preferred. We expect applicants to have recent experience of teaching learners with learning difficulties and disabilities; in particular adults, although applicants with more experience teaching the 16-19 cohorts and/or SEN teaching are also welcome to apply.
We would expect you to be able to teach within one or more of these subject areas - Cookery, Sports and Exercise, Maths and English. Courses are scheduled on weekdays, term time only. Our courses are run at our two main centers – Parkshot in Richmond and Hillcroft college in Surbiton. The college is based in Richmond but work may be available at our Surbiton site, in Merton and possibly in Kingston.
As a part-time tutor you will be expected to complete the administration associated with these courses. You will also be expected to attend team meetings at least once a term during an academic year for which you will be paid. So if you are knowledgeable, dependable and interested in this work and have relevant qualifications and experience, please do apply for this role.
