St Matthew’s Infant School is a friendly and nurturing, one-form entry, semi-rural school set in Downside Village, Cobham. It is a popular, well-loved and respected school that is very much part of the local community. As an outstanding school it is highly regarded and maintains a strong, cohesive team of staff and governors that are dedicated to continually develop and improve. As well as our focus on progress and attainment academically, we help children to develop a growth mind-set and a love of learning through our broad, creative curriculum and imaginative learning environment. Positive learning behaviour and PSHE are a strength of the school and we are a close-knit, caring community of learners.
We are seeking a SENCO to join our team for 10 – 12 hours per week – the day(s) can be chosen by the applicant. The SENCO will work with us to provide the very best inclusive education, so that each child enjoys learning – enabled to reach their own full potential, with confidence in their own abilities, by the end of KS1 in readiness for transition to KS2.
Applications are invited from teachers with experience of SENCO work and from experienced SENCOs. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate good working knowledge of the role of SENCO, success with SEN provision and commitment to the highest standards of inclusive teaching and learning. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic person who would work well as part of the team committed to our school curriculum, inclusion agenda and related issues.
St Matthew’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references and enhanced DBS clearance as well as proof of right to work in the UK (required at the time of interview).
The school will endeavour to make any necessary adjustments to the job and the working environment to enable access to employment opportunities for disabled job applicants or continued employment for any employee who develops a disabling condition.
Currently Coronavirus presents challenges for recruitment and interviewing but we hope that our advert appeals to you and that you get in touch, even if you are currently in self-isolation. We are planning ahead with a positive outlook and we can talk on the phone as a first point of contact with a view to interview when possible.
