The Headteacher and the Governors of St Peter’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint a number of enthusiastic and caring Special Needs Assistants to join our successful team, to start immediately after the Easter break.
St Peter’s is a vibrant and friendly place to work, with great opportunities for professional growth. For almost 70 years, our school has provided Catholic education to children of families in our local parishes, and the school aims to foster an inclusive, Christian ethos, along with a strong sense of community. Our academic results are very strong but we also pride ourselves on offering our pupils a broad range of other opportunities. We are in the process of a gradual expansion to a two-form entry school and this year we have two classes in Reception to Year 5.
The positions, for which part-time or job share applications will be considered, is to support children in Key Stage 1 and 2 with Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) that reflect a range of language, literacy, social communication and associated behavioural needs. We will offer training but experience of working with children with these difficulties would be a significant advantage, as would any qualification in school support.
Working in a growing school is tremendously hard work, yet rewarding and great fun. Our children are well behaved, enthusiastic and love to learn. The staff are incredibly hard working and team work is highly valued.
St Peter’s Catholic Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
As part of our Safer Recruitment procedure, shortlisted candidates are required to bring to their interview documents to confirm identify, name, date of birth and address. The appointment will also be subject to a satisfactory medical report and current DBS enhanced clearance.
