Special Needs Teaching Assistant, Yarm, North Yorkshire
We are looking for a special needs teaching assistant and home support worker for our seven year old son. He is a bright, cheerful, sociable and energetic boy with cerebral palsy. He attends mainstream school full-time and accesses the curriculum with the aid of ICT and a communication aid. He is independently mobile but needs assistance with self-care.
As parents, we value the importance of education and have high expectations. We are supported by a multi-disciplinary specialist team that will provide all the training required.
Excellent hourly rate: £15 per hour.
Annual leave and pension as per contract.
15-25 hours per week (negotiable).
The primary role is as a special needs teaching assistant two and a half days a week in school (6 hours/day).
There is the option of working additional hours after school(negotiable).
There is the option of work two days a week (8 hours/day) during school holidays, (negotiable).
The successful candidate, will initially be offered a contract from September 2020 to July 2021 with the option of a permanent contract, subject to performance.
This job is ideal for a young parent as it offers work during school hours and term-time. The additional work outside and during holidays school is optional. The candidate will work in a mainstream school but be employed privately by us (parents).
Qualified teaching assistant (minimum Level 3 teaching assistant, HLTA or equivalent) or PGCE.
Minimum three years working experience in school.
Valid driving licence with own car.
This job is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Special education needs experience.

Excellent record-keeping and work well in a team.
Video-call interview, followed by a series of paid trial sessions at our home.
