The Inclusion Service wish to appoint a term time special support officer within the newly formed Communication and Relationships Team. The team offers support, advice and guidance to schools in supporting pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD).
Enthusiasm and experience in working with pupils with ASD and/ or BESD is an essential requirement and the successful candidate will be required to support the learning of pupils in close liaison with school staff through outreach visits, action planning and where appropriate, direct 1:1/ group work.
The person appointed will be expected to contribute to the professional development of staff as part of a multi- disciplinary team and will work alongside relevant professionals to improve the inclusion of pupils with ASD/ BESD.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.
