We are seeking to appoint Student Engagement Coaches to motivate and inspire our students and to support them to overcome the barriers they face to confidence and performance in mathematics.
The successful post holders will work with vocational tutors, maths teachers and support and welfare staff to gain insight to individual student's needs and implement positive strategies to improve outcomes for Maths within the College. You will build up a caseload of students, through identification and referrals, who need require support for exam stress, maths anxiety and catching up after prolonged absence from the classroom. The coach is not intended to teach maths, but to assist the student in managing their attitudes, emotions and behaviours towards maths. This support the student engagement coach offers aims to improve outcomes for the students in their confidence and ultimately their performance.
Using engaging and motivating methods that demonstrate impact, you will support students within the classroom, in group settings andon a 1:1 basis to achieve their goals.
The student engagement coach will meet with students and their tutors to identify appropriate interventions, which will then be tracked and evaluated in order to inform future methods.
The successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in action research projects providing essential case study action and feedback.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and resourceful engagement coach to identify and reach out to students in need of motivation or support. * Grade 9-4(or A*-C) in core subjects Maths and English
* 37 hourspw over 5 day working week, term time only.
* You will be expected to attend various training days and courses within your usual working hours.
These posts will be fixed term until August 2021 and are on a term time only basis (38 working weeks).
