An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Welfare Team at Bath College.
The successful candidate will need experience of providing welfare and safeguarding support in an educational setting and will be motivated by wanting to help others to help themselves. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide clear professional advice on matters relating to safeguarding and wellbeing and be able to manage and prioritise caseloads to meet various deadlines.
The post-holder will be committed to a learner-centred approach in their work methods, be flexible and confident with excellent interpersonal skills. They will have a strong commitment to equality and diversity and to working with people who have faced a range of challenges and support needs. They will also need to possess excellent communication, personal organisation and administrative skills with experience in using IT to maintain comprehensive records.
The post-holder will hold and support a caseload of vulnerable learners, delivering a timely and effective service in the capacity of both safeguarding officer and student mentor.
In addition, the post holder will be required to maintain professional and effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners, in order to provide solid referral pathways and support mechanisms. This includes liaising with colleagues and stakeholders from Social Services, Children and Family Services, Avon and Somerset Police, Off the Record and other agencies from a range of different Local Authorities.
The successful candidate will possess a Level 3 Safeguarding qualification or be willing to gain one within the first 6 months.
This role will be dual campus at both City Centre and Somer Valley.
