An exciting opportunity, for an experienced data manager, to develop an integrated, forward thinking approach, to Data, ICT, and Examination management systems within our popular thriving school, located in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. Reporting to a member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the school’s data and examinations management and will lead on the development of a cohesive approach to ICT, data handling and communication systems within the school.
In this vital role you will support the school in striving to raise standards of teaching and learning.
Key aspects of the role include:-
Managing the development of an integrated approach to ICT and Data systems within the school
Managing the school MIS efficiently and effectively. Overseeing whole school tracking and administration of all assessment, examination, and pupil data within the school
Undertaking the organisation and administration of all aspects of the school’s external and internal examination processes.
Carrying out regular data reporting and provide interpretation for others.
Providing accurate and clear reports for Pupils, Parents, Teacher Senior Leaders and Governors
Supporting the School Leadership Group and teachers in their monitoring and evaluating of pupil progress.
Completing data returns, as required, by external organisations, including the Welsh Government.
We are seeking a highly organised person with a genuine interest in data and how it can be used to improve outcomes in all areas of the school.
You are a competent MIS user with a good knowledge of school data, experience of analysing data and the ability to stay calm under pressure. You are required to have strong administrative experience and a positive and proactive approach to all aspects of management. The ability to communicate with a range of individuals, excellent organisational skills combined and the ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines, with an eye for detail is essential.
This is an important and challenging role which involves close interaction with pupils, teaching staff, the Senior Leadership Team and managing a team of invigilators.
The systems manager is an extremely valuable position in our school, playing a pivotal role in the success of our pupils. We require someone currently undertaking the role, or with experience working in a similar position. You must have a high standard of literacy and communication skills, as well as excellent understanding of IT systems. Familiarity with SIMS would be advantageous.
In order to apply for this role, it is essential that you have:-
• Excellent skills and experience using Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
• Experience of data management.
• The ability to build and maintain excellent professional relationships with colleagues and experience of managing people.
• Experience in the use of data analysis tools, to support data management functions.
• Experience of planning and prioritising your own workload and managing competing demands to deadlines.
Annual leave will normally be taken during school holiday periods, and will be agreed in advance. It is expected that the post holder will work the last two weeks of the summer holiday, to coincide with the release of the external examinations results. Alternatively, the school will consider a term time+ contract of 42 weeks where the weeks of work required will include the last 2 weeks in August.
This will be an annualised contract as the job holder will experience peaks and troughs in workload dependent on the examination season and other factors. Flexibility is required with hours, to fit in with the needs of the role.
