Ysgol Tŷ Coch is a highly regarded, sector leading special school which caters for pupils with severe learning difficulties, Profound and Multiple learning difficulties and youngsters on the autistic spectrum. The school was judged to be ‘Excellent’ with ‘Excellent prospects for improvement’ by ESTYN in June 2017. The school currently operates from 3 sites. The main site is located in Tonteg with satellite provisions located in Buarth y Capel (Ynysybwl) and the Nantgarw campus of Coleg y Cymoedd. The successful candidate(s) may be deployed on either of the sites.
Due to a significant increase in pupil numbers and a change in the delivery of the curriculum, the Governing Body are seeking to appoint a number of innovative teachers. The posts would suit either primary or secondary qualified teachers. Experience of working with pupils who have additional learning needs (ALN) is essential and an appropriate, additional qualification in ALN is desirable e.g. a recognised ASD qualification, qualified teacher of hearing impaired/MSI/visually impaired.
The post will be available ASAP although start dates are negotiable.
