Pivot Academy is expanding, come and join us!
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our Academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds. We are doing great things – but we have so much more to do.
Even before the pandemic the demand for good quality provision far exceeded supply. The past year has widened the gap even more – and we are stepping up to the challenge.
Pivot Academy at Salus House will open in September 2021, providing additional high-quality capacity for children and young people with complex SEMH and other learning needs and we are seeking teachers to help shape the offer at our new provision.
Here at Pivot we recognise each of our learners are unique with different experiences and offer a pathway to reflect their individual needs and support success. We have high aspirations for all our learners, and our offer gives them the opportunity to experience and understand the world around them, enables them to achieve to their full potential and equips them with the tools they need to play a successful role in the world beyond school and into adulthood.
We are currently seeking teachers for the following subject areas:
- Food Technology
- Maths and ICT
- General KS3
- Art (supporting our provisions across Kirklees)
- Music (supporting our provisions across all sites)
Salus House will offer a calm and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe to learn and make mistakes. By embedding the Zones of Regulation and Emotion Coaching approaches throughout our practice, we will support learners to connect and regulate their emotions enabling them to access a variety of learning opportunities. Our class sizes are very small with high adult to pupil ratios and we are looking for reflective practitioners with a strong passion for helping every learner in their care reach their full potential.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives, whether you are new to teaching or have been teaching for years, we are confident that you will find working at Pivot a rewarding experience.
We do encourage you to submit your application form as soon as possible as we reserve the right to change the closing date for these vacancies.
