ALNCo and Class Teacher in SRB (Complex Physical and Medical Needs)
Grade: Main Pay Range / UPS + 1 SEN Point + TLR2

The Head Teacher and Governing Body of St James Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, motivated and inspiring teacher and ALNCo, with evidence of high quality teaching and significant experience of working with children having additional learning needs, including that of complex physical and medical needs.
St James Primary School is a community school for pupils aged between 3 and 11 years of age. Most of the pupils come from the local community areas of Mornington Meadows and Lansbury Park. Pupils are taught in 12 classes across the FP and KS2, many of these being mixed. In addition to this, the school hosts two resource base classes. There are 301 pupils on roll.
This is a very exciting time for the school as we aim to develop improved partnerships with Trinity Fields School and other schools with specialist resource bases in order to improve outcomes for our pupils with complex needs, in addition to those in our mainstream having ALN.
Governors are looking to appoint a teacher who is:
• An experienced ALNCo or who has achieved an additional related qualification
• Knowledgeable of the new ALN Code
• An experienced and exemplarary practitioner
• Committed to raising attainment through creative and innovative teaching
• Able to inspire, motivate and challenge the potential of all in our school community
• An enthusiastic, energetic and flexible team member and
• Is able to work effectively and collaboratively as part of the SLT in shared pursuit of the school vision.

The teacher appointed will need to have considerable experience of working with pupils with complex needs within specialist settings. This is an essential requirement for this post.
