The Head teacher and Governing Body of St James Primary School are seeking to appoint a skilled, motivated, and inspiring teacher with evidence of high-quality teaching and experience of working with children with additional learning needs.
St James Primary School is a community school for pupils aged between 3 and 11 years of age. Most of the pupils come from the local community areas of Mornington Meadows and Lansbury Park. Pupils are taught in 12 classes across the FP and KS2 in addition to two resource base classes for pupils who have complex needs. There are 302 pupils on roll.
This is an exciting opportunity to support and implement the new ALN process within the framework and opportunities of the ALNET Act (2018) and The Additional Needs Code for Wales (2021).
The successful candidate will:
Be an excellent classroom practitioner and have the ability to motivate and engage learners through the delivery of enthusiastic, high quality learning experiences of ALN.
Be a teacher that is engaging, caring, full of enthusiasm and make our children's learning fun and enjoyable.
Be highly motivated and hold equally high expectations of our children's achievements, their behaviour, and skills development.
Be able to effectively use levels of I.C.T./DCF to enhance their teaching and our children's skills.
Be able to work with FP and /or KS2 children in our Learning Resource Base classroom.
Have an in-depth knowledge of statutory curriculums and effective pedagogy.
Lead or work within an AoLE Team.
Be a flexible team player who can nurture and develop children's learning skills and emotional and social well-being to raise confidence and self-esteem.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, pupils, parents, the Governing Body and wider community.
