Pivot Academy is expanding, join us!
At Pivot we believe children deserve better. In our Academies we teach and support children and young people from Key Stages 1 – 5 who have been excluded from school, for whom mainstream education is simply not working, or those with an EHCP who require a specialist placement. Every day our teams do incredible work, making a huge difference to some of the most complex and challenging children, many of whom come to us with some really traumatic backgrounds. We are doing great things – but we have so much more to do.
Even before the pandemic the demand for good quality provision far exceeded supply. The past year has widened the gap even more – and we are stepping up to the challenge.
Our Day 6 provision at Bradley is a centre specifically for KS4 children who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school. Our curriculum is based on core academics, creativity and personal development but also has a clear focus on developing children's softer skills. Our aim in Day 6 is to support students academically and socially and to prepare them for transition back into mainstream school and we are expanding this provision to be able to offer additional capacity for these students.
For our expanding provision, we are currently looking for a dedicated, creative and resilient English and Work Skills Teacher to drive these subject areas forward at the academy. You will demonstrate a real passion for working with KS3 and KS4 children with SEND and a dedication to promoting and engaging young people in the subject areas. The candidate we require will be a reflective practitioner with a strong passion for helping every learner in their care reach their full potential.
Working at Pivot will give you a real chance to change our student’s lives, whether you are new to teaching or have been teaching for years, we are confident that you will find working at Pivot a rewarding experience.
We do encourage you to submit your application form as soon as possible as we reserve the right to change the closing date for this vacancy.
Start date: September 2021, or as soon as possible after
