Teacher of Biology
Y Pant is an over-subscribed school with an outstanding reputation for academic success and for fulfilling all pupils’ potential. In our last Estyn Inspection report the school received “excellent” in all five of the new inspection areas.
In January 2017 we made the enviable transition of moving into a brand new building with state of the art facilities throughout. Teaching here means you will benefit from an environment that includes a fantastic performance hall, C Touch screens in every classroom and a purpose built lecture theatre.
The Science department at Y Pant is thriving and is hugely popular at both GCSE (Triple) and A Level. The Biology department consists of a team of 5 specialist teachers who are supported by two Science technicians. The three disciplines of Biology, Chemistry and Physics work very closely together under the Head of Science, a role which the current Head of Biology also holds.
Setting aside the high standards of accommodation and academic success you will find the school to be a welcoming and exciting place to work. Staff are supportive, nurturing and forward thinking, whilst our pupils are well behaved, engaged and keen to succeed.
This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and ambitious leader and innovative professional with high expectations to join our team. We are seeking a candidate committed to maintaining the high standards set within the school and department.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
· inspire and motivate students to achieve the highest standards;
· teach across to all abilities;
· offer innovative ideas and strategies for curriculum and subject development;
· be an excellent team player who is passionate about all pupils succeeding and achieving their best;
· be able to use data intelligently and diagnostically;
· have a genuine passion for teaching and inspiring pupils to learn
