Backwell School is looking to recruit an engaging and dynamic teacher of Business Studies and Economics on a full time permanent contract from 1 September 2021.
We are looking for someone who can:
- be an inspirational classroom teacher who is dedicated to provide high quality teaching and learning.
- drive students to raise standards to achieve at all levels; and
- demonstrate commitment to the values and core beliefs of Backwell School.
The successful candidate will be required to teach Business Studies at both KS4 and KS5. Being able to teach Economics to KS5 would be incredibly desirable. There is the opportunity to help shape and grow the department alongside its leadership team. We would welcome applications from candidates who can offer an additional subject (that can be taught at Key Stage 3) which would be additional to the requirements.
Our Business Studies and Economics department is a successful and growing department within the Social Sciences Curriculum Area. Lead by the Subject Leader for Business Studies, the department is committed to inspiring its students. Teachers of Business Studies, from September 2021, will have access to teach in brand new, state of the art facilities, within our new building currently being constructed. Classrooms will be bright and spacious with wonderful views and modern teaching technology.
Backwell School is a large comprehensive school with over 1700 students of which 350 are in the Sixth Form. Judged by Ofsted as Good in January 2020 the school has an excellent reputation in the local area and is oversubscribed in regards to student applications.
