The post : A full-time, permanent teacher of English with TLR 3. Start date of summer term 2019 (earlier if available).
We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher of English to work with students across the age and ability range. The successful candidate will also work closely with the senior leadership team by taking responsibility for developing our provision for languages, literacy and communication skills in preparation for the new curriculum in Wales.
High quality learning is fundamental to our success and you will benefit from the investment we make in all our staff to develop innovative teaching which gives each student the best possible learning experiences. If appointed you will join an English Faculty which comprises a team of very talented and committed practitioners where you will be able to work in a very positive, well supported environment.
This is an exciting time of curriculum change and development in Wales. In addition to the teaching role within English we are offering an opportunity to lead on developing provision and up skilling staff to:
• exploit links between Welsh, English and international languages
• develop ambitious, capable learners who communicate effectively across a variety of media
• fire the imaginations of our learners through literature and inspire their creative thinking
We want to recruit the best teacher and whilst we welcome applications from newly qualified teachers this post would present an ideal opportunity for a teacher with a few years experience who aspires to a more senior leadership role. Pontypridd High has a proven track record of offering professional learning that has allowed many of our staff to progress to Head of Faculty, Assistant Head, Deputy Head and Headteacher in the last 3 years. This post has been created in order to challenge and excite someone who wants to be a part of this success.
Prospective candidates are welcome to visit the school and meet with Deputy Head, Laura Dober and Head of English, Ellie Amos on Tuesday 26th of November at 4pm. Please contact Nicki Pickens at School to confirm if you will be attending at this time.
