Teacher of Geography
To join us from August 2021 or 28th June 2020 for NQTs for one year in the first instance.
Beaumont Leys is a highly successful secondary school consistently rated as Good by Ofsted and with a Progress 8 figure of 0.03 (2019) showing that we do very well by our students despite their challenging backgrounds and below expected standard at intake.
Housed in a vibrant and colourful new build designed to replicate our inclusive and positive ethos, Beaumont Leys boasts fantastic facilities and a well utilised sports hall and fitness suite available to all staff. We consider our catering to be the best with regular staff breakfasts or hand-carved roasts. Our dining room is a wonderful place for staff to eat and catch-up and we even have a Cappuccino machine!!
Our Humanities Faculty is forward looking and innovative with an excellent reputation for maximising individual student potential and is a strength within our school. It consists of nine members of staff led by a Faculty Team Leader who is supported by a Head of Geography and a Head of History. In 2019 Geography achieved 14% 7+ and 66% 4+ whilst History achieved 33% 7+ and 67% 4+ both from a cohort significantly below National Average on entry.
We believe in ‘going the extra mile’ to help support students and staff. All staff are expected to teach their GCSE specialist subject as well as Religious Education up to KS4.
We believe in the power of our staff. We work hard to recruit the best and then we support them to be even better. Our internal promotion record is impressive, even our Head Teacher started with us as a NQT. We engage extensively with local ITT providers, including Teach First and Researchers into School, provide an excellent NQT support programme and run our own internal BLOTS programme for potential Beaumont Leys Outstanding Teachers. Our teachers are always learners and as such role model everything we want for our students.
So, if you want a forward thinking, dynamic school to take your career to the next level, we would welcome your application. Just like Leicester City’s 5000 to 1 shot, we are pushing the boundaries for our students and invite you to be part of our odds beating success!

We are committed to keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse and to promoting their welfare, and we expect that everyone who comes to work for us will share the same commitment. Fulfilling this responsibility includes making sure that our recruitment process includes a range of measures to identify those who may be unsuitable to work with children and young people.
In addition, all roles within the school/college are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and are subject to an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check. These posts may also be subject to further CRB re-checks at appropriate intervals. Further information about what the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 means for applicants is provided on the Application Form. Please note that having a criminal record is not an automatic bar from working with us: whether or not your criminal record has a bearing on the post you have applied for will be carefully considered as part of the recruitment process. This may involve a discussion with yourself about the circumstances and background to your offences.
