A part-time (0.7FTE) Teacher of History (maternity cover) is required to join our lively and successful history department in January 2021.
The post would suit a newly qualified or experienced teacher with the ability to teach at all levels. We are looking for an academically strong historian who can combine an intellectually rigorous approach to the subject with an obvious enthusiasm for pupils’ intellectual development and who has the ability to convey these interests across the full range of years in the school. Expertise in seventeenth century British history is desirable but not essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to become a tutor and to keep an interested but unobtrusive eye on the progress and well-being of his or her tutees and to work closely with other tutors, the heads of year and the Director of Pastoral Care to create a supportive and encouraging environment in which our girls are able to flourish. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the varied co-curricular life of the school and to share in the running and organisation of co-curricular activities, many of which take place outside the normal school hours and sometimes during the holidays.
Our online application form, including a supporting statement and full CV should be received by noon on the specified closing date.
Closing date: Tuesday 6 October 2020
Interviews: Week commencing 12 October 2020
