In the academic year 2021-22 the successful candidate will be expected to teach across the age and ability range in Mathematics and Numeracy at both KS3 and KS4. The Mathematics Departments in the Federation are forward thinking and fortunate to be part of the exciting Lead Enquiry Project and are trialling new materials and pedagogy for the New Curriculum, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in this work. The Mathematics department in Glan-y-Môr is a rapidly improving one, on a steep curve of improvement towards being excellent and achieving excellent results for the students they serve.
Glan-y-Môr and Bryngwyn School are part of a federation that strives to develop excellent standards and opportunities for all its pupils. In this context, the successful candidate would be expected to work collaboratively and closely with colleagues across the federation, and could be based in either school.
Glan-y-Môr has shown significant improvement in recent years and in February 2020 was categorised as a “Green” School for the fourth year running. Bryngwyn was also categorised as a “Green” School. This followed an Estyn Inspection (2017) for both schools that recorded that both the Current Performance and Prospect for Improvement for the school are both Excellent.
