The City of Stoke on Trent Sixth Form College is a thriving, lively and successful Sixth Form College, committed to social inclusion. The College is located in an award-winning, state of the art building at the heart of the University Quarter of Stoke on Trent, adjacent to Stoke Railway Station, providing excellent travel links. In addition, all STEM students are taught in the University Science Centre which provides access to sophisticated university standard facilities. In September 2017, the College achieved academy status as part of the Potteries Educational Trust. The Trust is working collaboratively with educational institutions from across Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire and beyond, seeking to improve outcomes for all children and young people in the region. In October 2017, Ofsted Inspectors graded the College ‘Good’ with several excellent features and praised staff and students for creating a supportive learning community. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and successful teacher of Mathematics who will be required to teach Maths across level 2 and level 3 courses according to the College needs. This is an exciting opportunity for the person appointed to join a successful and well-resourced department at the forefront of Level 3 Mathematics delivery. The Sixth Form College is also a leading provider of Further Mathematics as evidenced by consistently significant positive value added, ranking very highly nationally. We are involved in teaching and learning projects with the MEI as well being an active participant in the Maths Excellence Partnership to promote mathematics within schools across the City. The College has strong links with HE partners and staff within the STEM area are involved in initiatives to promote mathematics within schools across the City. Mathematics is a growing, successful and popular subject area within the College.
