Malmesbury School requires a dynamic, enthusiastic and well-qualified teacher of Modern Foreign Languages with the ability to teach French to GCSE level, ideally with German to year 9. The experience and ability to teach at least one language to A level would be an advantage. Applications from MPS teachers are also welcome. The post may have the opportunity for taking on extra responsibilities. Modern Languages are valued at our school with a large number of GCSE groups in both years 10 and 11 and is also popular with students studying A levels in French, German and Spanish. We have a history of excellent examination results. We have established International links with schools in Spain, France, Germany, Denmark and South Africa as well as China.

In 2014 we established the Avon Teaching School Alliance and we now lead a group of excellent local schools and universities in providing high quality Professional Development Opportunities to staff at all stages in their careers. The languages faculty support the work of AvonTSA through outreach to primary schools and the delivery of Teacher Subject Specialism Training in French and Spanish; a programme that supports existing teachers to teach a second subject.
