Teacher of PE and Girls’ Games (Maternity Cover)
Full-time temporary position, commencing January 2021 to cover a maternity leave

We have an opportunity for an outstanding PE/Girls’ Games Teacher to join the PE/Sport Faculty at William Hulme’s Grammar School (WHGS), Greater Manchester’s Second most over-subscribed school and one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. WHGS is an all-through (3-18) Academy of over 1450 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds. The Academy has a relatively new Sixth Form Centre which in 2018 marked the completion of a huge expansion project. Inspectors judged the school to be Good in all phases in its most recent inspection, May 2019.
You will be responsible for teaching PE/Girls’ Games at Key Stages 3 and 4 and there will also be a requirement to teach a Key Stage 2 class every week. You will be an experienced teacher, delivering consistently good and outstanding lessons, an excellent team player with the highest standards of professionalism and expectations of students. You will have up to date subject knowledge and a track record of success in maximising student progress across all key stages.
As well as being an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about the teaching of PE and Sport, you will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school, ideally with the ability to lead basketball and fitness for girls.
