A rare and exciting vacancy for a Teacher of Religious Education has arisen at Cardinal Griffin Catholic College. Governors are therefore seeking applications from suitable applicants to join us September 2021. Part time but Full Time may be considered for outstanding candidates.
It is important that the successful candidate is a good fit in our team of staff, and so you may be highly experienced or just starting out on your teaching journey. What matters to us most of all is a commitment to a knowledge-rich curriculum that simultaneously seeks to build God’s Kingdom, a passion for teaching and learning in Religious Education in the Catholic context and a generosity that seeks to enable children to make progress educationally, emotionally and spiritually.
In return we can offer you the opportunity to a join supportive department in an equally supportive College and the opportunity to make a difference to students from a wide variety of backgrounds and beliefs. Colleagues Cardinal Griffin frequently comment on the pleasant nature of pupils who respect their teachers and want to do well. For those who wish to develop their careers, we can offer support towards taking on greater responsibilities in either teaching and learning or pastoral areas of College life.
NQTs who can demonstrate the potential to be outstanding teachers are encouraged to apply.
The College encourages applications from those of the Catholic faith, but it is not a barrier to appointment if candidates do not have that faith background provided they support the ethos of the College. We are extremely proud of our ethos which comes in very large part from our Jesuit Associate School membership and Catholic Diocesan heritage. This teaches us to be grateful for the gift of teaching that we have and to be generous in using it for the good of our pupils.
Given the current circumstances surrounding Covid19, it is likely interviews will be managed differently to our normal process and interviews will be online via MS Teams.
Closing date for applications is 9am, 27th January 2021; although the College reserves the right to interview as soon as it has a suitable field of candidates and so encourages early applications.
Previous applicants need not apply.
Interviews will take place week beginning 1st February 2021.
