Townley Grammar School is one of the top 100 schools in the country. Rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, our students come from a wide socio-economic background which makes our school environment richly diverse.
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Religious Studies.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach well motivated pupils in an oversubscribed school of approximately 1500 students with a thriving co-educational sixth form of over 500. Our students are bright, articulate and engaging and Religious Studies plays an integral part of their school life. As part of the Odyssey Trust for Education, we work alongside King Henry School, enhancing opportunities for career development and experiences.
Religious Studies has a vital role to play in supporting the provision of challenge for all students. As well as being an innovative classroom practitioner, the successful candidate will be required to teach across the key stages including KS5. All students study a full course GCSE in RS and two A level groups run each year.
The school offers a full induction programme for all new members of staff with excellent professional development opportunities. This post would also be suitable for an NQT.
Here at Townley, we are committed to prioritising the wellbeing of our staff as well as outstanding teaching and learning practice. We encourage our colleagues to hone their craft and provide enriching and exciting opportunities for our students. We have ten CPD days over the academic year, weekly bespoke CPD for staff after an early end to the school day on Monday as well as a two-week half term in October. You will be respected as a professional colleague and work with inspirational students every day.
Closing date: Friday 2nd October 2020
Interviews will be arranged as soon as suitable applications are received.
The school is an equal opportunities employer and is committed to safeguarding and
promoting the welfare of children and young people. The School operates a no smoking policy.
