Teacher of Science
The Science Faculty at Dyffryn Taf is a dynamic team with high standards. We expect equally high standards from our pupils, whom we support with high quality teaching experiences. We aim to present Science in an exciting, stimulating and enjoyable way to make it accessible to all our pupils.
From the moment pupils walk into a Science Laboratory at Dyffryn Taf, we capture their interest and enthusiasm for Science. We aim to develop their appreciation of how important the subject is to society in the 21st Century. Through a varied curriculum which we are now developing in preparation for the New Welsh Curriculum we aim to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding of How Science Works and help pupils grasp the essential knowledge and understanding of different areas of Science and how they relate to each other.

Dyffryn Taf fully recognises the contribution it makes to Child Protection and was commended for its policies, support and interventions in a recent county-wide "Safeguarding Health Check".
There are 3 main elements to the School's Policy:-
1. Education and Pastoral support is offered to pupils to enable them to keep themselves safe and prevent abuse.
2. Procedures are in place for identifying and reporting cases, or suspected cases, of abuse. Because of our day-to-day contact with children, school staff are well placed to observe the outward signs of abuse.
3. Supporting pupils who may have been abused.
A door entry system has been put in place as part of the School's Safeguarding Procedures to keep the School a safe community. All visitors need to make their way to the Main Entrance of the School where they will be able to enter the building after speaking to Reception via the Intercom.
