Teacher of Science at KS 3 & 4.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and committed specialist teacher of Science to join us in September of 2021. This post would be suit someone who is experienced in teaching Physics to GCSE.
This is an exciting and challenging post where you will be required to teach science across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will have the opportunity to work with like-minded teachers within the Department. The successful candidate will be passionate about their subject, dedicated to providing exceptional learning experiences in the classroom, and keen to contribute to wider aspects of school life. Science is a high profile subject area and therefore it is essential that you are enthusiastic, hardworking and conscientious.
The Science Department is a creative, forward thinking and supportive department committed to raising standards. We currently offer AQA Combined Science (trilogy) and Triple Science to GCSE. We also offer a range of extra-curricular activities to enrich the educational experience of our students.
This position would equally suit an experienced teacher, or an NQT who is looking for an excellent start to their career.
A full and comprehensive induction programme is followed for all new staff, including those new to the profession.
Bowbrook House School is a successful ‘comprehensive’ Independent school with 200+ pupils ranging from 31/2 – 16 years of age. We have an ability profile ranging from 87 – 147. We are situated in the village of Peopleton just outside Pershore and equidistant from Evesham and Worcester. You must possess a proven track record of effective teaching practice underpinned by a broad base of subject knowledge and the ability to apply a range of teaching and learning strategies. You must also possess excellent communication, analytical and organisational skills with the ability to manage each pupil as an individual.
The appointed candidate should:
*Hold a full teaching qualification of PGCE standard or subject specific degree.
*Be an excellent classroom practitioner.
*Have a good understanding of curriculum developments in their specific subject.
*Be confident in the use of standard computer packages and how these can be used to enhance student learning.
*Be creative in problem solving together with willingness to take on and try new approaches and ideas.
*Have the ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner and to recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
*Be willing to participate in extra-curricular activities and whole school activities.
