We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher who is primary or secondary trained with experience of teaching Science. We are offering a 0.6 part-time post for one year in the first instance.
We recognise that in the last year the COVID pandemic will have made an impact on our learners in different ways and we need to carefully consider how we can best support all children so they can achieve outcomes they deserve in the future.
We will therefore consider applications from primary or secondary trained teachers that may focus on one of the following areas:
1. A successful applicant who can focus on teaching Year 7 and 8 children, providing the right levels of support for them to positively respond to their experiences over the last 12 months.
In the above context we will also consider applications from staff already working in a school as part of a ‘secondment’ opportunity. We believe such a role can be of benefit to all concerned in the timescale offered.
2. A successful applicant who can teach across different year groups, including to GCSE level
High quality learning is fundamental to our success and you will benefit from the investment we make in all our staff to develop innovative teaching which gives each student the best possible learning experiences. If appointed you will join a Science Faculty which comprises a team of very talented and committed practitioners where you will be able to work in a very positive, well supported environment.
Pontypridd High has a proven track record of offering professional learning that has allowed many of our staff to progress to Head of Faculty, Assistant Head, Deputy Head and Headteacher in the last 3 years.
You can find more information about the role and our school in the attached application pack. The closing date for applications is 10am on Friday 18th June. Completed applications should be forwarded to the school for the attention of Ellen Parry.
Prospective candidates are welcome to visit the school and meet with Deputy Head, Laura Dober and Head of Faculty, Mrs Kerry Stockman on Wednesday, June 16th at 3pm. Please contact us at School to confirm if you will be attending at this time.
