An excellent opportunity to teach Science to ALN students in both learning resource base and mainstream classes. The post is full time and fixed term until 31st August 2020.
St Julian's is a thriving, over-subscribed comprehensive school that has an excellent reputation within the local community as a result of quality teaching and constructive support for students. We are a large secondary school with around 1,500 students currently on roll.
We are looking to appoint a forward thinking professional to teach Science to Key Stage 3 and 4 students some of who have statements of special educational needs.
Around 50% of lessons will be delivered in the Learning Development Centre. The LDC is one of Newport's learning resource bases and comprises 53 students with moderate to significant learning needs. LDC students are working between P levels to Level 2 on entry.
The person we are seeking will:
* preferably have a strong background in Science;
* be able to differentiate work to cater for all needs;
* ideally have a ALN background;
* have high expectations of all students;
* deliver lessons in a fun and practical way.
If the above sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
