Teacher of AS/A Level & GCSE Spanish - required for January 2020
St. David’s College is a popular and over-subscribed Sixth Form College providing high quality education for 16-19 year olds within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. In our 2019 Estyn inspection we achieved an ‘excellent’ grade in inspection area one for standards, and in inspection area five for leadership and management.
Governors seek to appoint a highly enthusiastic teacher of ‘A’/ ‘AS’ Level Spanish. We are looking for a teacher who will promote learner-focussed, engaging and innovative practices to ensure all learners reach their full potential. The successful candidate will have the ability to engage effectively with students and help them to progress, as well as having a demonstrable commitment to the importance of skills development. Applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to prepare post-16 students for the demands of their future study or employment,

The position is offered as a permanent full time role including some Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate teaching. Part time applicants will also be considered for a role teaching AS/A Level Spanish only. This role attracts a salary of between £23,626 - £36,637 dependant on experience (pro rated if part time)

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be expected to teach a micro-lesson as part of the selection process. Interviews will be held on the 21st of October. The lesson brief for this is attached.
The College operates a Sixth Form College academic year and therefore the Autumn Term begins in late August to allow for enrolment activities.
