TEACHING ASSISTANT (1-1)
Fixed term, 6 month contract (32.5/33.5 hours per week) term time only, to start in January 21.
VTG6, SP15-18 starting salary £18,250 per annum, pro rata (actual starting salary £13,711 per annum based on 32.5 hours per week) plus Health Care Cash Plan and Benefits Package
Merchants’ Academy is an all age Academy based in Withywood, Bristol with students from Nursery through to Sixth Form. Merchants’ Academy is part of Venturers Trust which is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers together with the University of Bristol. The Trust comprises Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school with 3,500 pupils and 700 staff. The Academy provides an exceptional environment for students and staff.
We looking to recruit 3 Teaching Assistants to join an exciting and committed team at Merchants’ Academy, Primary. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are caring and assertive and have a passion for helping young people and who are committed to raising the attainment and aspiration of our students. These roles will work 1-1 with a pupil with high levels of complex social, mental and emotional needs
The successful candidate will have:
- GCSEs at Grade C or above in English and maths (or equivalent qualifications).
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent relevant to a Teaching Assistant role
- Experience of working effectively supporting children with complex social, mental and emotional health needs in a learning environment.
- A proficiency in improving basic numeracy and literacy with specialist skills in literacy that will enable you to work with targeted individuals.
